Troubleshooting Electric Golf Cars

Introduction
If you are having problems with your golf cart, powered by electricity, then there can be several reasons. Learning how to troubleshoot your electric golf car can help you determine any problem at an early stage and get it fixed without wasting time and money on hiring a car mechanic. Before you begin troubleshooting, read your golf cart manual, so you can recognize and repair or adjust the complicated parts efficiently.
Solenoid
With the key in the ignition, press the accelerator. You should hear a clicking sound, which means that the solenoid is properly working. If you hear a click, then check the solenoid for loose cables. A solenoid is the insulated wire wound on your electric golf car. The electric current passes through the solenoid and set the magnetic field it needs to function. If the wires are loose, make sure you tighten up instantly. Press down on the accelerator again, and if it is still not a click, then the solenoid should be replaced.
Controller
The driver in his golf cart controls the speed of the electric golf car. Check in detail to make sure there are no loose cables in the controller and if there is, make sure it is tighten. You will need to replace the driver, if there are black marks on it.
Engine
Look at the engine of your electric golf car and check for loose cables. In addition, make sure that when you spin the drive belt, it should give resistance. If the bet does not give any resistance, then your engine has seized and the axis of the unit is completely broken. You may have to contact the nearest golf cart dealer to replace 7the engine immediately.
Battery
Battery is the most common problem with electricgolf car. Different golf cart manufacturers use rechargeable batteries, acid based on their golf carts. If the battery gives you problems, make sure the terminals are clean and tight.
In addition, you can also use a mixture made of plain water and baking soda for deep cleaning. Then check how much water left in the battery and make sure that the distilled water is covering its plates. The meter on the charger should read between 15 and 20 amps. If not, you will have to contact the car dealer and arrange for a new charger.
